Just yesterday, Stop Killing the Internet, from the people at @StopKillingGames, launched an ECI against ID age verification! This is great but it needs 1 million signatures !

So, if you live in #europe, please sign it! If you don't, or even if you do, still share it around so more people know about it and can sign it!

Reaching the signature threshold will not mean that ID age verification will immediately become illegal, but the subject will be brought to the @EUCommission and they'll have to do SOMETHING about it. This is already a huge step in the right direction!

Along with strict rules that machine generated content, if ever used at all must be clearly identified faculty members are advised they must discuss any such content with another faculty member before using it.

For example if someone used an LLM to make up a bunch of extra sentence translation practice problems based on an existing list they'd need to show it to another language teacher and discuss it before using it.

Continuing my reading on how Papyrix renders text...

There's a method for rendering truncated text which 1st sizes the text to see if it needs truncation, for Arabic/Thai (due to greater text-sizing nuances) iterates over all prefixes (longest 1st) to find the 1st one which fits with the appendeded ellipsis, or binary searches for that location, & returns the truncated text with the added ellipsis.

Then there's a suite of methods for breaking line of text into multiple.
